Annual Report 2007
Well, if you had forgotten, I had scrapped the idea of having resolutions since last year. Mainly due to the fact that I never fulfiled them and I tend to not care about them at all. But I did mention I wanted to pick up a new skill. Well...
I guess I did tried to do better in life and work. I remember having all this self-realisation, self-discover shitzz for a couple of months. I blame it on my quarter life crisis. For once I notice how much I've grown and I've also realised how precious time is. Charly, the french fry, came down to Singapore again for his internship. I wished I had spent more time with him but I didn't. He was here for like 6mths and I met him like 2-3 times? pathetic eh? But that's more frequent than I meet my own folks, so... Lindsay came and I met up with her for that one day... just one day! I will do better for your 2008 trip, I promise! I met so many new people... like SO MANY! I made myself sit down and listen to them to really get to know them better before passing off judgement. Yeah, a whole different Fida coming your way. I'm still the same person really, just takes a much longer time to unleash the negativity now. Haha! Am I happier now? I guess you can say so. But deep inside there's a tinge of sadness in me for the fact that I wish I could meet up with my present, long-time-no-see friends again to catch up on old times. Just having you in my phonebook is not enough... unless I've chosen to avoid you already? Muahaha! Let's talk about vacations. I went to Phuket, Bangkok, Bintan and JB. That's like using my passport for 4 times! Like woah~ This has to be some kind of a record! Usually I travel like twice max. Pricely possession of this year includes:
I almost lost my PC but a good friend told me he'll fix it at no cost... just a Burger King meal! That was a close call but I'm glad he manage to salvage everything back. I have no clue what I'll do if I loose all the data inside! I should now consider investing in a Hard Disk Drive to backup all my data! I did blogathon again this year and once again, I fell asleep for a bit. It was a lot more organised this year as I've had previous experiences. Haha. I didn't raise that much money but I'm glad I did my part to help the less fortunate. Should I look forward to Blogathon 2008? Meh... we'll see about that. It kinda gets a tad too old... we need fresh ideas people! As I mentioned I won't be setting resolutions but on the other hand, I started new projects/hobbies.

Why do I blog?
This post by EastCoastLife inspired me to write this entry. So... Why do I blog? History Back in the 90s when I was goddamn curious-till-I-don't-want-to-study about HTML, I started setting up personal homepages (haha who uses this word anymore?), fansites, official homepage for my friends and I (yeah, we think we're celebrities... Go PSYCHOS!) and many others from scratch; ie no frontpage nor one of those WYSIWYG softwares or program. Just being able to change the background image or the font type excites me. After I got kicked out of school, the only motivation for me to work and earn my own cash is to be able to afford my own computer, internet connection and a decent photo editing software. My skills improved tremendously as I browse many tutorials site and eventually take it to the next level - web design. I get orgasmic whenever I see my design online, for the world to see. It takes a hell lot of practice and browsing around to get the idea what HTML and photo editing softwares are capable of achieving. There wasn't this thingy called Blogger then so my homepage are hosted on free servers like geocities, angelfire, gurlchick, tripod and many more. I think my URL was like http://www.geocities.com/3454/Sunsetstrip/(i forgot my nickname then).index.html. Mouthful ain't it? So the next step is to find a host who provides the shortest URL. It doesn't end there. As having a homepage turns to a fad, advertisers starts pouring all over our homepage; pop-ups, banners, you name it they got it! It got too annoying for me and after long consultation with my geeky friends, I decided to purchase my own domain - FidaInc.com. Blogging fad emerging? Around the time I got the domain, new fad surfaced; having online journals/diaries. I made use of my domain and start blogging manually *GASP*! It was fun and much more versatile in some ways. After a couple of months when I could no longer commit to organizing my archives, I browse through many million tutorial site and end up using GreyMatter (like B2, Moveable Type) and my blogging frequency doubles as it takes away the time I had to spend on manually organising my post, uploading and archiving. Since I can take my mind of that, I spent more time thinking of innovative ways to spruce my website. Eventually a few new fads came up:
I think this is the answer to the actual question Blah blah blah... , I blog cos' I love to see my blog looking pretty, not so much for the words I typed on the whole outlook and presentation and I can say 'blogging' then and now has changed tremendously and I can safely admit, I'm lost. Fancy my opinion?
 Ah yes, I got these before anyone else in Singapore could even purchase it. Thanks to a certain someone who believed in me, giving me the opportunity to review this expansion pack. I have mentioned before to many that I wished I can get paid playing Sims 2. Wish almost granted. Not getting extra income from this but good enough of an experience. Who the heck in the right mind would let my opinion be heard by many? Oh, speaking of which, I will be on TV in 2 weeks or so on BlogTV.sg, a new tv show on Channel News Asia. And so it Sims...
I created a blog for my brand new Sims Legacy called Bittersweet Sims. Its pretty much a random legacy, literally. I randomise everything and play with it. Except for their hair and clothing, which can make me gag, I had to change them. Otherwise, everything else is random. Oh no, I designed their houses... therefore erm... unrandom.      I'm having so much fun with it so far. Finally I manage to design pretty houses without spending a bomb (Sims metric, simoleons). I should take more screenshots of the houses I designed. I have this thing about 1 level homes. I hate 2-3 levels ones for my Sims will get tired easily climbing up and down the steps. Also I love to see what's going on at one glance without rotating the screen too much. Easy on the eyes, easy on the mind... Anyone with such blogs wanna link up, or if you wanna start a legacy of your own, let me know... I'll be there!

I know I wanted to go on hiatus *glares at Kate* but in the end I sprung back up, like the trooper I've always been, and... well... blog. I have a few reasons why I wanted to and both didn't really work out. I had prepared a new layout for my website. Its gonna be all white... and pink. Hehe... something different. Rockstar updates + Work Anger
BEFORE I START, please take your time to click HERE! My renter's sticking around for another 48hrs so I thought I'd pimped her site a lil' bit more. I may be talking about 2 different topics for this entry but nevertheless the emotion is pretty much the same. Angry music and angry Fida... hmmm... Yesterday I was at work till late. I only reach home after 8pm. That's a record so far. I kinda tell myself when I first started that I'm not gonna be one of those suckers who has to be stuck in the office for more than 8 hrs. Why I was held up? I was waiting for a couriered parcel to be delivered to the office. It was supposed to have arrived in the afternoon but apparently the courier guy told the agency that there was no one in the office to receive it, and he has been coming back and forth twice. That's just utter bullshit, I say. In the end he came about 7.30pm. JOY!! I was so pissed I threw the parcel on my desk and Scott who has been hanging around my office poured me a glass of red wine. How sweet. I practically inhaled that thing and got back to work. I was breathing again after that... thanks to the wine. Ok now lets talk about the rockstars. Most of them put up an impressive performance. The judges was on the edge of the seat rocking along to the performances. My take on last night's show, Zayra, Dana and Josh should be in the bottom 3 cos' they sucked! My fave last night were of course Dilana, Phil and Magni! They rocked man! Damn World Cup!
I am so freakin' pissed at human race. Oh no, soccer fans to be precise. Now I know why the stock market worsened once every 4 years in June. All because of the World Cup. Stoopid soccer. Its a stoopid game! Here I am slugging in the office rushing my work, trying to meet dateline and there you are, my dear clients, happily sleeping in your couch in front of the telly after catching a soccer match at 4am whatever! Soccer comes first... work? Oh... what was that word? Work? Never heard of that word before... hmmm... Ok, this whole week, out of 10 emails I sent, 7 was set on auto-reply telling me that they'll be out of the office till like the end of the month! Arrghhh!! Like HELLO! Life still goes on, ok! Ah... can't blame them. Maybe the company paid them too much. Too much money that they can afford to buy the latest HDTV, subscribed to the premium soccer channels, able to purchase a car and make their way down to the supermarket to buy crates of beers to down everytime the referee blows the whistle! Before I begin, PLEASE VISIT MY RENTER WEBBIE, lookie to your left... Reality Show fans especially. Hey ya'll! Its been a while since I blogged. I love blogging cos' it lets me express myself and a quick way to update everyone I know (who knew the existence of this webbie) that I am happy and at times when I am pissed. By the time I managed to meet them F2F (face to face), they knew what to do and what to talk to me about. I'm happy ya'll. I'm blogging with a smile on ma face. **Britney Spears/Red Neck mode off** I have photos to update but the silly 'ol fotopages site is down :(. I have many many pics of my new colleagues and of course, my new hair. Yerpz, I am very happy with my hair now. *CROSS FINGERS* No more bad hair day! My colleague gave me a pair of movie tickets on Friday at GV Plaza. Its for the movie called "Slither". Hmm... I met Salyza and Fidzah last week too. She wants to pass us her wedding invites. I kept complaining to her how sweet smelling her card was I dun have to wash my handbag anymore. It tickled my nose from time to time therefore I took a harsh decision to store the card far far away from my nose. Till your wedding day, I'm not letting that thingy out. Hmmph! While reminiscing our good 'ol school day, we manage to thought of how to find Fidzah a boyfriend. We're gonna start our 'mission' after fasting month and we even came up with a list! Sumthin' Wicked This Way Comes...
Ahhhhhhhhhhh Yeahhhhhh!!!! New layout, ma babies! Watcha think? Cute? Yeah... I thought so. This is the best I could come up with. No fear, I hope to make a better one before middle of this year... till then, just bear with this one. Ironically I am very busy at work at the moment. I have 1 week left exactly before I step out of this GODDAMNSHITHOLE for good and I have not even packed yet. Why am I so busy? Hmm... somebody doesn't wanna lend a helping hand. Somebody panicked that I'm leaving and there'll be no one else to push her work to I tried throwing away rubbish I've collected after 6 years of being here and I had to stop half way. Its just too overwhelming (or could be that I'm just too god damn lazy, go figure). I don't think I am able to clear my desk at all. There's definitely more work stuff than personal one. Of course I am planning to dump whatever shit that will not fit in my big box/bag (can't decide on which yet). I caught Date Movie last night and I'll give it 7/10. Could be better but as usual, you have to be ok with this kind of parody-movie in order to appreaciate it. Oh yes, SCARY MOVIE 4 is coming! And so is X-Men 3! Oh photo update... Reflections of 2005
Its almost the end of the year and its time I reflect on my life for the whole of this year. I may not be able to recall everything but the more significant ones are still fresh in my mind. Here we go...  On the very first day of 2005, I made a resolution to go for my navel piercing. Been hesitating for months in 2004 and finally I've made up my mind. I remembered those days where I walked past a tattoo parlour checking out the pretty, pretty jewellery. There was also one time where Fahmy held my hand and escorted me to one of the store and I stopped him. I couldn't stop shaking at the thought of going anywhere near the shop. No regrets and the pain was worth it! Till today I grinned when I look down at my "bling bling".A couple of days later I managed to, for the first time, to have a meal in Little India. For 24 years I've been in Singapore, this day was the very first time I ate there. Good stuff. But nothing so special to me. Probably should have gone to a better stall or something.  19 January, God bless Channel 5 for airing Manhunt! Seriously I've never actually fancied our local channel network but because of that show, I'm glued to the TV set every week same time! I mean, I could imagine reality shows like America's Next Top Model and when I thought if they have a male version of that, it'll be awesome. And my wish was granted!In March, I finally decided to invest my CPF with a trusted source and I'm so damn glad I did cos' apart from doing "the right thing", they threw in a Creative Muvo MP3 Player... sweet! I am still using it till now and I never left home without it. What a worthy investment!  A month later my usual 'flea market" gang pooled our moolahs together to rent a space and having done it before, we're stronger, more manipulative and we know what sells and what doesn't. As usual we had an awesome time and we get to make a few extra bucks from it. Guys we have to do it again!Channel 5 made my day again by airing "Joey". He's like my favourite Friends character and they made a sitcom all about him! Dream come true? Hmmm....  There's plenty of first-times in my 2004. Another one has to be my virgin trip to Singapore's very own Snow City. Its not as awesome as I'd expected and yup, I'm never going there again. The place is small and there wasn't much snow to play with. It looks dirty too! I would recommend the one in Genting Highlands, Malaysia. Theirs are top notched! I wouldn't mind going there again if the ticket price will drop by another 10-15%? My handphone will do this to me almost annually. That's when it struck me that its not worth it to indulge in expensive gadgets. I am breaking my habit of purchasing a Nokia from now on. I settled for a spunky looking Samsung. Plus Starhub gave me a $100 voucher to show their appreciation for my loyalty. I'm waiting for the day they'll give me a $200 voucher! I'm too God damn loyal, Mr Starhub! I really am! Anyway, the phone hasn't been giving me ANY problems till now *cross fingers*. Oh yeah, I named it Paris Hilton cos' I accessorise it with bling-blings. I love it! I love it! 2005 EA Games launched Sims 2! Like its sooooo about time! Grrrr... I bought mine in July and have been happily playing it since. I am back to being addicted to games like this. I can sit in front of my PC from the moment I wake up till late at night without food! That's how much I love this game. Oh yes, I also got a new internet plan and it goes vvvrrrroooommm... 1500kbps! The free goodies were alright... and I'm not paying anything more than my previous 512kbps plan! Nice... Another bad habit of mine is that I love organising chalets for friends. This year we did again in August. We had a blast! There's plenty of food to go round. There wasn't that much of a crowd but that didn't lapse the fun factor that day. It was a mayhem. Laughters everywhere... Shiny happy people... Ah yes, I went for more-than-I-expected vacation this year. One of them is to Genting Highlands right smack in the beginning of fasting month, Ramadhan. Its not something I will usually do but the experience rocks! Will I do that again? Hmmm... will consider. right after the trip I repacked my bag for a division retreat @ Shangrila, Sentosa. Awesome place and my boss let us all have a more expensive room. Awesome ain't it?  Just last month, I made history. I did! I spent the most number of days overseas than I ever had in other years, combined! 2 weeks in Thailand had enlightened me on so many different cultures, races, weather and many more. I went places and I pushed myself to a limit that's alien to me. I survived the trip. I'm being a bit of a drama queen here but you would to if you went thru what I did. Seriously... will do that again!That pretty much sums up my 2005. There will be one more entry like this coming up soon... be prepared...

It's Been A While...
I'm about to launch my Version Nine layout... Can't believe me sometime! I've had this website since May 2003! What have I done to it all these while? Its sooooo full of FIDA, hahaha! That's soooo worth my money, duncha think so? I mean, that's what fidainc.com is all about. Hey! I've got a dot com, OK! Do you even own a dot anything? Hmmph!! Anyway quick update, my Rizal's back from Oklahoma/Cincinnati. He did his pratical and stuff at Oklahoma University and just completed his final paper last weekend. I wished him all the best for his result. I made him a scrapbook for his birthday. 2 months of tearful research done on how I can actually go about making them. In the end, I 'scrapped' the whole concept and made it my own. Muaahahahahaha! Final result? He loved it!    Been spending a lot of time with him lately. Both Fahmy and I. He's a lot of fun to hang out with. Can't believe he's still single. LADIES, wassup ya'll?? Spent my weekend at home. Pretty good. I watched all 15episodes of Desperate Housewives. And I still dunno what's the secret behind Mary Alice's suicide! Damn... can't wait for season 2! Ahh, to summarise everything, my week had been pretty dull. Oh before I forget, Haqiim, congratulations for getting a B4 for your 'O' Level Literature paper. So proud of you! Hehehe...

Its pretty enlightening to stay home during the weekends doing absolutely nothing. Not exactly nothing, I helped Siti to code her layout and help her to start using Blogger. I also played Sims till all my characters got married to each other and have at least 2 kids each. I can't wait to get my Sims 2 somewhere this week. Piracy is illegal but that's all I can afford right now. Hehehe.. maybe when my company agrees to pay me more, I will buy the original Sims 2. I have Sims Deluxe Edition for sale. If you're interested, quote me a price and the highest bidder wins! I should be coming up with a new layout by now... I'm slacking... No! I'm not. Just busy making gifts for 2 special people in my life. My hair is longer now. I should trim it, I should, but Fahmy would be pissed if I do. He never liked my short hair in the first place. Muahahahaha... but dear, my dark roots are showing! Should I go blonde or blonder? *LOL* Monday sucks... what else is new. I can't wait till the end of the day and get back in my game of Sims. Hehehe... can't get enough of it. Its a disease! If only life is as easy as the game. I use cheats therefore I can have as much money as I want and buy anything I want and I don't have to work. I went jogging
Ah yes... I was bored on Sunday around 7-ish in the evening. I looked around my room thinking of stuff to do... I channel surf on my couch for a bit... talked on the phone with my cuz a while and WALAH! I picked up my socks and running shoes and I'm out there... jogging! I've always had this route all planned in case I wanna jog. I covered the route... pretty impressive eh? I wanted to jog again today but unfortunately I had to spend most of my time in front of my pc... yes, my baby crashed TWICE! Then i plopped my ass infront of the telly, yeah, the Grammys... Earth, Wind & Fire!!!! OMG! I'm planning to start using CSS for my next layout. It'll take time again for me to change it. Its been more than 3months I have been using this layout. I love Flea... duncha?

Its Monday again!
Omigod.. I hate Mondays. I kinda like having a sore eyes... only my right eye. If it doesn't subside I'll see the doctor this evening. I hate sore eyes. Reminded me of those times I was in hospital diagnosed with Eye Ulcer. Yes ladies & gentleman, there is such a thing as that. Actually that was worst as compared to any other types of eye soreness. I was close to going blind (the left eye), funny as that was the period where Left Eye actually met with the fatal accident. I could have replaced her in the band! Damn... *LOL* Working on a new layout for Fida Inc. But knowing me, I might just redo the whole thing over and over and over again... I cannot set my mind on things. Plus its hard to come out with something better than what I have right now. Everyone's in a holiday mood but me. I am not gonna take any vacation leave, obviously I am not going anywhere, plus this is the best time to work when the office's pretty empty. I hope everyone's going on leave except for me! Recycling is fun
I heard on radio stats of how much waste we're creating in the office daily. I feel very guilty now. I am using a lot of paper! But everyone in my office know that I tend to reuse my papers. Colleagues from other offices came to take some recycling paper from me! Alright, I dun feel so bad now... I slept early last night since Fahmy's a asleep by the time I finished watching Queen of the Damned. Pretty good movie! I wonder why so many people tell me not to watch it... just because Aaliyah doesn't appear that much, doesn't mean the movie's a flop! What's the big deal about Aaliyah anyway. I never really liked her. Everyone's into her after her death! I dun understand... dun wanna feel left out I assume... I'm contemplating whether or not to change my layout (AGAIN?!?!). Its so gothic... its so me! I love it! Tell me what you think...

Still on "honeymoon" mode...
Its been close to a week since my anniversary but Fahmy & I are still sorta celebrating it. Since we never had the whole day with each other, why not split them up. My calculations tell me the whole celebration will end before fasting month. Can't wait to go iGors next friday! Or is it Thursday? Hmmm... I have 3 temp staff under my supervision this week! Hehehe... Its kinda cool to tell others what to do. I mean I ain't pushing all my work to them. I am equally occupied as well, unlike what some people might think! People... I think I'll stick to this layout for a veeeeerrryyyy long time. I love this layout so much I dun even feel like changing it. Probably if I wanna change my layout, I'd probably sell this layout to others... Hmmm... my brain's in money-making mode! Ya, I know... didn't get quite a good hunt in eBay this month... so sad :( Call me weird but Fahmy & I have been trying to come up with cool baby names for our kid. Its only Tuesday! Damn it!
I'm so freaking tired nowadays. Probably cos I work too much... ya rite! Anyway after monthssss I took some Panadol (drugs for relieving headaches) but I think I'm having migraine or something. I could never tell the difference anyway. Fahmy and I made plans to go KL end of the year and I am soooooo freaking looking forward to it. I guess I still have to drop by Johor, M'sia next month for a touch up for my hair. My dark roots are like 4-5" long already! It looks terrible! I miss going on vacations and staying at almost luxurious hotel rooms... I failed my Basic Exercise Course a month back and my colleagues had made plans to tutor us for the retest. I wished I had taken Latin as a 2nd Language which will come in freaking handy when I have to memorize the parts of Muscles and Bones of a human body... Some my colleagues now started blogging... freaking cool! Now I have blogging mates... *LOL* So freaking proud of them... Guess why I'm overusing the word "Freak..."? Cos I'm a freak... *starts singing* I'm a weirdo, what the hell am I doing here, I dun belong here... Fida wrote on 12:37:00 PM. |
