L33T-ing & Singing
L33T Launch Party: Nothing awesome, just networking session among mediawhores. I had to mend the front desk for the event at the 11th hour when I've already made plans to tryout this new Karaoke place in Chinatown. The event went pretty ok. I have no idea what's going on inside, but the place is lovely (read: butt absorbing seats). My area is right next to the table where they place all the drinks free for the guest. I think I had waaaaaay too much champagne that night. I love champagne. I can drink it like water! Ten Dollar Club: Only $10 per head, free flow of drinks and they even throw in a bowl of sharkfin soup (not the original one) per person. The room's alright and the song selection's pretty good. The best part I guess for the price, I can adjust the room temperature when it gets cold/warm, no issues. Will I go back there again? OF COURSE! They don't have a website and for those interested to try it out, its on Smith Street, Chinatown. Its on the 2nd/3rd floor and the entrance is behind a makeshift foodstall called selling Peanut Soup (euwww!). Check out the pictures! Labels: music, party, singapore, work

Take me to the promenade
I've never been to a prom neither do I had any to start of with. Its not part of the education culture here in Singapore. I watched countless number of movies where kids look forward to that one night to hook up, make out and most importantly, to don that dream dress they've been searching for MONTHS (or much longer than that if you can believe it)! So I was actually browsing for prom dresses 2008 collection, you know, like a nutcase that I already am, and picture myself in it on a prom night that I'd wish I would have had when I graduated almost 10yrs ago! The best part of the site is where they show you all the gowns you should avoid like you would a meteor or if you have already own one, you gotta go burn it or something.  Looking like Bai Ling on the most magical night of your teenage life is SO not cool!  Arghhh... pretty dress but your date might be getting sore eyes before the night ends  Only Ugly betty can work this dress... just don't! Labels: party

Party?
On Friday night, about 30% of my colleagues stayed back to throw a farewell party to 3 of my other colleagues who'll be leaving, Carebear, Charger and erm... a fruit. Haha... I use nicknames cos I felt like it. What? Other bloggers are doing it so why can't I! Anyway the party's B-O-R-I-N-G but at least I gotta play Nintendo Wii Tennis! Addictive like no words can describe. I don't suck... and I'm no expert but practise is the key word. That's the only bit of the part that I enjoyed the most. Hardwarezone 8th Anniversary @ Zouk
5.30pm I was already at zouk. Roam around the empty space armed with a glass in my hand. Wondering wtf am I gonna do later in there. My dear colleagues will be dead busy entertaining the clients and the rest will be busy doind administrative stuff. Wtf am I gonna do? Aaron came to me with a bag of fake chips and claimed he can triple it in no time. I told him I do not know how to gamble and he dragged me to the casino area for a round of blackjack. I won that round and he looked at me in disbelieve. Aaron: You told me you do not know how to gamble! Me: I am good at blackjack but I've never played with chips. So we were stuck at the table for a good one hour before the dealer had to close the table for a 15mins break. I walked around looking for familiar faces with no agenda and hung around them for a bit until my tummy start rumbling and I dashed for the buffet tables. Hell break lose after I had my brief dinner. I hung around Clifford and helped to entertain his clients. They love me, I love them... KC: You love Alfa Romeo cars? Me: I love their spyder. KC: I love a woman who knows her car. Tee-hee, here I go!
I am so dreading to blog right now cos I've not been updating for quite a while and I have a lot to say about them. Well, here goes nothing... My last day in SSC It was raining and I came to work in the afternoon to clear my half day leave. One thing for sure. I am God damn glad I had packed my stuff slowly for the past few days. I was very satisfied with the state I left my workstation for the next person to take over. Its not 100% clean, but its good enough a condition for a human to 'live' there. Not many peeps knew 22nd March 2006 is my last day of work so by going around the office with a camera sure do give them a shock. It beats me telling them myself. I mean, why should I advertise my last day? If you wanna know, you should have asked me personally, right? Anyway took some pictures, unfortunately a lot of people were not in the office that day, so too bad, it rained heavily, bade farewells and off I went with my ex-boss and ex-supervisor to a place unknown to me. He wanted to give us both a treat for his promotion and our resignation and he brought us to his brother's pub near Marine Parade/East Coast. Nice place, forgot the name, delicious food and yes, we drank. Its a good think he made me drink. I can say whatever I want without feeling the guilt or embarassment. I had to admit but I was having a good time with him. Not gonna miss it though... 1st day of unemployment I did not wake up late. Its like my body had been permanently set to wake up at a certain time. I could go back to sleep but I had an appointment with Haqiim. We met at Coffee Bean, Boat Quay in the afternoon and dear sir asked me a very STOOPID question. Haqiim: Just the two of us? Fida: How many others do you know is not working right now? DOH! The long awaited event On friday we had arranged for a very important person to attend a very "grand" party organised by a couple of us to celebrate the last few moments before she gets deflowered! Yup, its Salyza's bachelorette party @ Merchant Court Hotel/MOS. Apologies for lack of photos thanks to Fidzah who's so God damn slow and also my apologies for lack of details cos we had a pact not to kiss and tell ;P I will probably post up some selected, harmless photos here but not now. The day after... Went to one of my favourite pub, 1 Nite Stand to enjoy good music, good crowd and awesome booze. Just a simple drinking session for no specific reason. Right at this point I am very aware there's too much blood in my alcohol system, yeah... The 1st day of my new job It was alright, my workstation is quite messy, although pretty much bare. The colleagues are alright too. The best part of the job was to know that everybody sort of need to have their MSN activated for easy communication. We use it even though the person we're communicating to is sitting in the same office as you. Cool ain't it? Work load is pretty much bearable and I'm yet to receive more responsibilities from the manager. I'm slowly reorganising things around my desk and of course the work itself since I am the new girl who has to start something afresh here with a new system implemented by the manager recently. I feel really good about this place, although I am still in search of a smoking partner, otherwise, everything else is alright! They told me in Aug/Sep this year, the whole company will be having a retreat but no idea where. Can't wait! Before I pen off... Oh dear me...
I had a very weird week. I felt sleepy and tired throughout from Monday all the way till Friday. Thank God I wasn't working yesterday. I kinda guess I was pretty drained out since I'm doing 2 jobs now. Translation ain't a piece of cake as what I thought it would be. I had my share of criticism. I don't care. It pays well so I just have to deal with it! I didn't really go out that much last week. Had dinner at Pastamania with Sarinah and Fahmy caught up with us like after 10pm. I kinda love Pastamania now. Its not as sucky as the first time I went there. Friday I followed Fahmy to one of his ex-classmate's chalet. Turns out that the whole family there. I felt the uneasiness spreading to every single one of his friends. We left pretty early *LOL* right after we had 2-3 helpings of the BBQ delicacies. I felt so bad... those guys were terrible! I woke up too early today. Fahmi, my colleague, having a house warming "party" this afternoon. I have no idea what to wear and I am still hesitating to dug out for my old clothes! My 2004
I had a great time with Fahmy on New Year Eve. We spend the whole night together talking and laughing and nicking off each other *LOL* We went to a very boring place to celebrate with his friends where unfortunately that night, they chose a Techno fanatic DJ to entertain the crowd. I got a headache after standing in the dome-shaped "disco" for an hour. We left around 1am and went somewhere else more serene... I got some really wacky text message on my mobile... here's my top 3 favourite: After serious & concise consideration, your contract of friendship has been renewed for another year. I hate Sunday! Its always sunny... and hot! I have a wedding to attend in a few hours and I'll bet that I'll sweat like I've never sweat before. Goodbye paradise... oh hell, hello again *sigh*
I'm home... after 3 nights of peaceful, serene mini vacation in Changi Sailing Club. I didn't even bother to take any pictures of that place or the whole event cos' I dun see the speciality of that place or the memories by looking just at pictures. You have to be there to fall in love with it. I bet all of you would... My baby had a superb birthday celebration, he got very high (almost drunk) that night. He looked so cute. I fell like making him go thru everything all over again... NAH! He felt very sick the morning after. Morning sickness? *LOL* I had to follow him to the competition venue (he's in a band ad he had a competition the day after his birthday). He looked terrible. Boey told him he's doing what rock stars would do... get stoned the day before a big concert! *LOL* Surprisingly all the BBQ food finished and there's no leftovers like last years. Well I guess when you get so used to organising all these stuff, you kinda know how to budget and gauge the amount of stuff you need. This is not the last time I'm gonna organise a chalet/BBQ defo! I'm tired... very tired... but I am glad I went thru it all... tiredness of satisfaction (?!?!?!)... anyway... I dun wanna work anymore... I'm going on a lifetime vacation! (I wish)

Beg me puh-leeze!
I played pickleball again during lunchtime. Never felt more tired after that. I felt like slamming my head on the keyboards and go zzzzz... Anyway I had fun. It was a fun game. Planning to play that often. GOD I hate taking showers at work. I have 2 face towels to dry myself after shower. I dun feel any cleaner still... I'm callin out to your body Baby you know just what to do Close the door no interlude - Maxwell's Fortunate I head down to Pasir Ris straight after work to meet my dear boyfriend. I saw an ad on Burger King new Cheesy Pepper Burger (choice of beef or chicken). My GOD it taste heavenly. I love lots of pepper in my food. A few months back McDonald had McPepper Burger and that didn't last very long. I missed that burger... So I was at Downtown East's BK and we saw Jo and Rose... hmmm... I wasn't expecting to bump into anyone, especially them. Well Jo stayed around that area so I shouldn't be THAT surprised. I spent like 10mins begging Fahmy to let me drink during the chalet. A few friends of mine (incl. his) gonna get some liquor in my chalet. How can I NOT drink?! Its been a while since I did that... NAH it seemed like a very long time ago since I touched those stuff... but actually its just like a month back. I didn't even got high PAH!

Counting Down

I am one of those Melodramatic fools Neurotic to the bone No doubt about it Hmmm... 3 more days to my chalet. 4 more days til my Fahmy turns 24. He's getting old *LOL* I am so happy today I dunno why. I shall not elaborate further just in case this smirk on my face won't stay til the end of the day... I live in a cemetery Full of good will and integrity You see, I have no specialty MTV Dance sucks... not that bad but I guess there's not much groove in it. Must be the instructor's style which seems to be very... commercial. He made us dance to one of the Blue song. In the first place, making me dance to a boyband song is a defo rip off! Preparation for the chalet is going pretty smooth. Arrangement had been made for BBQ chicken and satay so far.
